ERP Ecosystem Daily
ERP Ecosystem Daily — September 16, 2026
Today’s strongest signals concern governed AI interfaces, finance controls, and the gradual movement of accounting work out of fixed application screens. No qualifying new Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Acumatica announcement appeared after yesterday’s briefing.

Salesforce begins separating enterprise workflows from the application screen
Salesforce introduced AIforce, an interface layer that exposes its data, workflows, permissions, business rules, and actions through Claude, Slack, Lightning, and other AI interfaces. Users can generate live interfaces from descriptions, query records, update data, and trigger workflows without navigating the traditional Salesforce application.
Salesforce also introduced Koa, a specialized customer-relationship-management reasoning model built on NVIDIA Nemotron. Koa is in customer pilots and expected to become generally available in U.S. regions during winter 2026; Salesforce’s claim that it produces three times fewer errors comes from its own benchmark.
Why it matters: The competitive unit is shifting from the application screen to governed data, semantics, permissions, and callable actions. This could reduce dashboard, report, interface, and basic configuration work while increasing demand for permission design, workflow ownership, output validation, and cross-system controls.
Workiva launches no-code agents for reporting and internal audit
Workiva introduced Agent Studio, through which business users can configure and schedule agents using company-specific knowledge and governed Workiva workflows. It also announced agents for regulatory reporting and internal-audit testing, including evidence collection, sample selection, attribute testing, and documentation.
Why it matters: Workiva is automating work that previously required audit staff, spreadsheet coordination, and consulting support. Its emphasis on traceability and defensible evidence is strategically stronger than a generic productivity assistant, although licensing, implementation effort, accuracy, and production outcomes remain undisclosed.

Expensify puts expense analysis directly inside Claude
Expensify released a connector for Claude for Small Business that can answer questions about missing receipts, vendor spending, period-over-period changes, card transactions, and expense data. The connector is available on paid Claude plans.
Why it matters: Routine spend analysis and receipt follow-up no longer necessarily require opening an expense application or commissioning a report. The announcement demonstrates conversational analysis, but it does not establish that Claude can safely approve, post, reimburse, or modify transactions with ERP-grade controls.

Finance leaders want a more reliable close—not merely a faster one
A Sixthfin-sponsored survey conducted by Odoxa found that 67% of 303 United Kingdom chief financial officers prioritized account reliability, while only 42% were highly satisfied with their close-management process. Excel and ERP were each used by 67% of respondents for account analysis, while only 3% reported using a dedicated account-reconciliation system.
Why it matters: The commercial opening is after transaction processing: account substantiation, analytical review, anomaly detection, control evidence, and exception management. The evidence is limited to a vendor-sponsored UK survey and does not demonstrate Canadian demand or Sixthfin’s claimed productivity results.

Siemens connects engineering truth with commercial and service workflows
Siemens and Salesforce are integrating Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management with Agentforce. Proposed uses include identifying the correct part for a serial number, restricting quotations to manufacturable upgrades, and letting customers locate and order appropriate parts.
Salesforce also says Siemens now uses agents to process more than 2,500 monthly inbound leads across 132 countries. A future supplier-onboarding workflow is intended to perform certification, financial, and risk checks before completing steps in SAP without manual navigation.
Why it matters: This is a practical example of agents connecting engineering, customer, service, supplier, and eventually ERP workflows. The service and lead use cases have customer evidence; the end-to-end SAP onboarding process remains a roadmap claim.
